Our bread bag is made from 100% cotton with a natural beeswax coating, creating a breathable environment around your bread. It helps protect the loaf from drying out while allowing excess moisture to escape — without relying on plastic.
The bag measures approximately 31.5 × 42.5 cm, giving you plenty of room for large sourdough loaves, artisan bread, baguettes, rolls and bakery bread.
Always allow freshly baked bread to cool completely before placing it in the bag. Warm bread releases moisture, which can create condensation and affect both the bread and the beeswax coating. Store the bag away from direct sunlight and heat.
Gently rinse it with cool or lukewarm water and, when needed, a small amount of mild soap. Leave it open to air-dry completely before using it again. Avoid hot water, the washing machine and dishwasher, as high temperatures can damage the beeswax coating.
With proper care, the bag can typically be used for 1–2 years or longer. Over time, the beeswax coating may gradually wear down and can be refreshed with EkoHem ReWax to help extend its life.
No bread storage method can completely prevent mould, as this also depends on the type of bread, moisture level, room temperature and storage conditions. The breathable material is designed to help reduce trapped moisture compared with an airtight plastic bag. For best results, always store fully cooled bread.
